Fox Street Announces Two Night New Year’s Run

Fox Street has announced plans for a two night New Year celebration, the group will present two night’s of music at The Bluebird Theatre. On Friday, December 30th, Fox Street will play a set of original tunes, followed by fellow Denver-based band, Yamn, playing the music of Daft Punk. The following evening on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, Tiger Party presents Someone Great – the music of LCD Soundsystem, while Fox Street rolls in the new year with a 12-piece band and two sets entitled “Boogie Nights & Blow,” featuring music from the motion picture soundtracks, including songs by Rick James, David Bowie and Prince.
Last January, the group headlined their first show at a packed-out Gothic Theatre. Their 2015 album Authentic Western Style released to wide acclaim and features performances by many special guests, including bassist Todd Smallie (JJ Grey and Mofro) and keyboardist Bill McKay (former member of Leftover Salmon) from the original Derek Trucks Band, as well as collaborations with members of The Motet, Polyrythmics and Analog Son. Since their 2008 inception, Fox Street has maintained a relentless coast-to-coast tour schedule, taking their soulful funky tunes across the pond for the first time in the fall of 2014. In the days since their start, Fox Street has shared the stage with contemporary acts like Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Galactic. The band has also had the pleasure of playing with members of The Allman Brothers Band, The Black Crowes, Little Feat and The Meters.
Yamn, as featured at Electric Forest 2016, has opened for Moe., The Motet, Papadosio, Twiddle, Dean Ween Group, Nathaniel Ratliff and the Night Sweats, EOTO, Conspirator, Electron, Kyle Hollingsworth Band, Perpetual Groove and The New Deal, also sharing the stage with members of String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee, Disco Biscuits, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Dopapod.
Since its conception, Tiger Party has welcomed to the stage and studio members of STS9, Lotus, The Disco Biscuits, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, The Motet, Analog Son, along with a myriad of other artists from coast to coast, while supporting The Brazilian Girls, The Motet, Infamous Stringdusters and Moe. While the band is led by keyboardist Blake Mobley and vocalist Ashley Niven, the New Year’s Eve lineup will host members of fellow Colorado bands, The Malah, Analog Son, Other Worlds, What Young Men Do and more.
