When setting out to record Gotta Get Back, Walker had one goal in mind: to return to the roots of why he started playing music in the first place. Produced by Jano Rix of The Wood Brothers, the album became quite the family affair for Walker, who invited his sister and parents to play the string parts featured on record, all of which were arranged by his father, Scott Walker. Predominantly recorded at Zac Brown’s studio, Southern Ground, in Nashville, TN, the collection features Chris and Oliver Wood on acoustic bass and background vocals, respectively,  as well as Rix on drums, piano, organ, percussion and various other instruments. Walker’s long-time collaborator Gary Nicholson co-wrote many of the tunes on Gotta Get Back. Throughout his career, Walker has had the pleasure of calling North Carolina, Nashville, Austin and New Orleans home, and each city’s musical influence can be heard throughout the new album.
