Greensky Bluegrass At Madison Theater

On Thursday February 8th Greensky Bluegrass made a stop in Covington, KY at the Madison Theater before heading up to Detroit, MI to conclude their 2018 winter tour.

Joshua Davis opened the show. It’s a very rare occasion where the opener is so amazing I buy every album they have. Very smooth vocals backed by very raw guitar playing. Joshua got the crowed all set but I could have listened to him play all night.

Greensky Bluegrass took the stage and the roars of 1,000+ Mid-westerners echoed through the Madison Theater. Starting off with a 13 minute “Kerosene” I knew from there there were more amazing things to come. From there Greensky played “Forget Everything > Send Me Your Address From Heaven > I’d Probably Kill You > Radio Blues > Room Without A Roof > Living Over” > Joshua Davis joined in on “The Ghost Of Richard Manual” and a phenomenal cover of The Band’s “The Shape I’m In” ending the first set.

Second set started out with “Doing Time” and from there, “Dry County” > a thunderous cover of Pink Floyd’s “Time/Breathe In The Air > Windshield” > a very fast cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “White Freight Liner Blues > Tuesday Letter > Train Junkie > Blood Sucking Friends > Leap Year” and for the encore “Luckiest Man.”
