LISTEN: Michelangelo Carubba’s 3rd Annual All-Star Birthday Bash At The Brooklyn Bowl

Turkuaz‘s venerable drummer Michelangelo Carruba recently celebrated his 32nd birthday, and with it, hosted his 3rd Annual All-Star Birthday Bash at the Brooklyn Bowl.

Featuring a wide array of talent throughout the night including fellow ‘Kuaz bandmates Craig Brodhead, Shira Elias and Sammi Garett, as well as Ryan Montbleau, Cris Jacobs, Jennifer HartswickNatalie Cressman and members of Snarky Puppy, this outstanding cast of musicians covered a great deal of ground, literally.

The first set of the evening included covers of Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Mighty Mighty,” Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” and Janet Jackson’s “What Have You Done For Me Lately,” with the second stanza featuring the Tower of Power’s “Soul Vaccination,” Michael Jackson’s “Streetwalker,” Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun” and of course, no celebration would be complete without a “Happy Birthday” singalong.
