Phish Deliver Jam Heavy Second Set On Night Two Of New Year’s Run
Phish‘s fifteenth show of 2017 at Madison Sqaure Garden was a jam filled night. First set kicked off with a fun “Cavern”, a mid-set “Martian Monster” was a monster, “Destiny Unbound” made an appearance, and “Walls Of The Cave” closed out the first set strong. The jam filled second set opened with improvisation vehicle “Sand” which moved into an unfinished “Chalkdust Torture” that smoothly segued into “Ghost”. A mid-set “Backwards Down The Number Line” slowed things down a bit before transitioning into “Simple” which gave way to a blazing set closing “Split Open And Melt”. The band delivered a short encore with the Hoist track “Julius”.
Tonight is the penultimate show of the run, if you can’t make it to New York City for the show you can tune in live via LivePhish.com tonight and enjoy the concerts from the comfort of home.
