Phish Rocks Madison Square Garden On Night Three Of New Year’s Run

Phish came into night three of their four night New Year’s run at Madison Square Garden strong last night, kicking things off with a crowd-pleasing combo of “Mike’s Song>I Am Hydrogen>Weekapaug Groove”. A first set “Tweezer” came next, which gave way to “Ass Handed”. A solid “Bathtub Gin” made a late first set appearance along with a slowed down rendition of “Brother”.

Second set kicked off with another Mike Gordon heavy tune, “Down With Disease”, which clocked in at nearly thirty minutes, and explored a number of interesting themes before transitioning into the sequence of “Steam>Light>Farmhouse”. The always fun and danceable “Run Like An Antelope” finished the jam heavy set. “Sleeping Monkey” and “Tweezer Reprise” closed out the evening as encores.
