Phish Sail Into 2018 At Madison Square Garden

Phish sailed into the new year last night at Madison Square Garden, wrapping up their four show New Year’s run and bringing their total number of shows played at the venue in 2017 to seventeen. Last night’s three set performance notably lacked the presence of newer material, other than the third set debut of Phish original “Soul Planet.”

The third and most anticipated set of the evening saw the band take the stage which had been transformed into a theatrical sailing ship, with two sails, a crew, and even a Phish branded Jolly Roger. The final set of the run kicked off about 11:45PM with the band debuting “Soul Planet” before New Year’s Eve staple “Auld Lang Syne”. The remained of the set continued the sailing/sea theme before the always blazing set closer of “First Tube.”
